Introduction to coconut water




Did you know that coconuts especially the young green coconuts, contain a delicious edible fluid inside them. This is commonly referred to as Coconut water and its has a great deal of health benefits to the drinker. Coconut water is  good source of natural diet fibre and is very low in cholesterol.
Coconut water is natural of source minerals such as and Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and Manganese. Coconut water is low in fat, has only 15 k cal and less than per 4 gm of carbohydrate in a 100 gm. Making it a good choice for a healthy hydration drink. Coconut water is also a good source of vitamin C and Riboflavin.  

Health benefits of drinking coconut water.

Hydration

Did you realize that coconut water is as good at hydrating your body as many sports drinks on the market. It’s a natural way to replenish electrolytes after hard workouts, without the artificial coloring's and sweeteners found in many sports drink. and it tastes great.

What is the best Coconut water to drink?

Ok, if you have come this far through this post you might now actually want to try coconut water but which brand do you choose. I would suggest looking for your coconut water using this quick guide.
My three levels of quality for coconut water.  (best to worst)
1.  Natural  straight from the young fresh green coconut, not older more mature coconuts as the nutrients are not as rich as they mature.
2.  Raw and organic that has been frozen to keep its freshness 
3.  HPP. High pressure processing is best way to preserve the goodness in coconut water without using heat and extending its shelf life
There are many other coconut waters available but these will be from concentrate and more than likely heat treated to kill bacteria and extend their shelf life for very long periods. They are also likely to have additives like sweeteners. Any of these will be lacking the nutrients and will not taste as good.
We have learned some properties of  Coconut water, 
the many health benefits of drinking this refreshing healthy drink 
and have learned how to choose the best products on the market.
